Shipping and Other Options
When you purchase a vehicle online, you need to consider how you are going to get it home. We have had customers do all of the following:
Contract with a professional shipper: This is the easiest method if you live a great distance from central Kentucky. Costs vary depending on vehicle size and your location. Delivery usually takes a few weeks. We have contact information for shippers we have used in the past listed below. There are numerous shippers listed online at www.movecars.com. Make sure you choose a shipper with a reliable history. MSNBC did a story on unreliable shippers.
Fly to Bluegrass Airport: We can make arrangements to pick you up at the Lexington airport. We can do the paperwork at Gill Motor Company and let you drive your new car home. This is generally cheaper and quicker than having the vehicle shipped and is a good way to go if you live within a days drive. You can even fly in to Lexington and stay in a hotel. We will pick you up the next morning and bring you to Gill Motor Company. You can even take a mini-vacation in the Bluegrass area.
Drive to Gill Motor Company: You can always drive to our shop with a trailer to haul the car yourself or bring a friend so you can drive it home. This is generally the least expensive option. You can get a map and driving directions from MapQuest.
If we list a vehicle with a shipping credit, you may apply the credit to any of the above options.
